Full Bucket Music has released the FB-7999, a modern recreation of Korg’s DW-6000 and DW-8000 digital synthesizer instruments.
Korg’s DW-6000 has six-voice polyphony in two modes, or one monophonic mode with all six voices stacked. This is the first digitally controlled analogue synth hybrid keyboard instrument from Korg.
The Korg DW-8000, a larger version with an eight-voice polyphony, was released in 1985. The eight voices come in two mode polyphony, or one monophonic mode with all eight voices stacked. The DW-8000 also includes velocity and aftertouch, a feature missing in the earlier DW-6000 models.
Both Korg synths are recreated in full detail in the FB-7999 plugin. Instead of only six or eights voices, however, the FB-7999 uses a dual digital oscillator with 16 +16 waveforms.
Along with this upgrade in sound, the FB-7999 comes with newer features catering to today’s music producers. Pseudo-stereo delays, SysEx import and export, and support for microtuning via Oddsound’s MTS-ESP are among the features included in the plugin. FB-7999’s user interface is also resizable for multiple display sizes for easier viewing.
