American Artist Pierce Fulton Dead at 28

Fans of Pierce Fulton have been shocked with the news of his untimely passing today, May 3rd. The Vermont-based electronic musician and instrumentalist died at 28 on Thursday “following a tragic struggle with his mental health.”

Fulton’s specific cause of death has not been disclosed to the public at the time of writing. Taking to the Pierce Fulton Instagram account, his brother, Griff, suggested that he had been transported to the ICU at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

“Pierce was so incredibly full of life, love and unimaginable creativity,” his brother wrote. “He was kind, caring, thoughtful, silly and sweet. The most magical person that we were all so blessed to know, hear and see.”

The post continues: “This past year has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone.  If you or anyone you know has been struggling, please take your intuition seriously, speak up about your feelings, and reach out for help.  Each and every one of you matters and are loved more than you can ever know.”

Remembering Pierce Fulton

Pierce Fulton debuted on Cr2 Records with the release of his 2011 EP, Introducing Pierce Fulton. His career gained momentum concurrent with the EDM boom of the past decade, landing him releases on labels like Armada MusicMonstercat and Anjunadeep. His single “Runaway” from a 2014 EP of the same name reached #1 on Billboard‘s “Twitter Emerging Artists” chart.

Later in his career, Fulton settled into a more progressive, introspective sound. In 2020 he released a 12-track album titled Keeping The Little Things that showcased his more tranquil musings.

Pierce Fulton is survived by his mother, father, sister, wife and brother. His family has expressed interest in starting a foundation “which will focus on real and lasting positive change” in his memory.
