A new book by one of the U.K.’s most treasured ’90s rave figures, MC Magika, is slated for a September release.

Make Some Noize is a crowdfunded effort by MC Magika (real name Aimran Majid), who will use the book to explore and reveal the history of 1990s rave culture in the United Kingdom. With a storied career of over three decades and innumerable performances, Majid will offer priceless insight into the scene’s history, from the up-front to behind the scenes.

The book features contributions from Carl Cox, for whom Majid performed throughout the decade, among many others including Grooverider, DJ SSSlipmatt, and Andy C. “Magika could move the crowd like no other MC,” Cox has said.

“I’ve spent three decades working in the live music industry – from house to hardcore via techno, jungle and drum and bass – it’s been a journey with its highs and lows working with some of the biggest names in dance music,” says Majid. “It’s a journey I made with thousands of party goers like you up and down the country and across the world. I want to tell my story. It’s your story. It’s our story. It’s the story of the UK rave scene from a new perspective.”

Make Some Noize is due for publishing in September. To learn more, or to contribute to the crowdfunding effort, visit the book’s official Indiegogo page.
