MaRLo‘s eclectic influences have manifested into a discography spanning the trance spectrum, and his latest release gives weight to the lighter side of the genre. Titled “Onaj,” it comes out today, July 17th, via Armin van Buuren‘s A State Of Trance imprint.
Rolling kick drums give way to a serene breakdown early in the track. Without the assistance of vocals, the arrangement builds back up to an invigorating peak, with a memorable chorus of synths soaring over the top line. “Onaj” is significantly softer than much of MaRLo’s signature “tech energy” style, but it’s an accessible concept likely to reach the ears of most trance diehards around the world.
A River Runs Through It
Owing to the worldwide resurgence of trance, MaRLo’s career trajectory has arced significantly over the past couple of years. 2017 sees the Netherlands-born, Melbourne-based DJ and producer expand his Altitude event series to several markets worldwide – and if he didn’t have enough on his plate, his wife gave birth to his son, River, in March.
MaRLo’s busy tour schedule brings him to six more European destinations in July alone, and then between August 5th-26th four of his Altitude events will take place in Melbourne, Sydney, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. “Onaj” is available for purchase via Beatport.
