Kampire and Decay Introduce Live Stream Fundraiser in Support of Ugandan Arts

Kampire and Decay of Uganda’s Nyege Nyege collective have gotten behind a new fundraiser. #32BreaksGround, which was introduced by 32° East | Ugandan Arts Trust last week, will support the arts in the capital city of Kampala.

The #32BreaksGround fundraiser is broken into two phases. The first phase will see organizers construct artist studios, a cafe, and a library in their new art center. After raising enough funds, they will will move on to the second and final phase which includes additional studios as well as a “workshop space, a gallery, accommodation, and art shops.”

In a recent Instagram post, the two artists shared information on the fundraiser and announced plans to host a charity show in honor of the cause early next month. The event will be held at the Wild Coffee Bar in Kampala and will also be live streamed on Kampire’s Twitch channel for those who cannot attend. For the April outing, they promise surprise guests and new merchandise in support of the fundraiser.

32° East | Ugandan Arts Trust’s #32BreaksGround fundraiser kicked off on March 16th, 2021. Organizers shared that their goal is to raise $200,000 in one month and move on to the final phase of the project.
