Electronic music fans in New Zealand are celebrating their country’s pandemic successes with the return of large-scale music festivals. As reported by NME, a number of festivals in the past two months have been able to operate with 20,000 attendees and no social distancing. Now, Friendly Potential is gearing up for their upcoming event, Beacon Festival.
It’s set to kick off next month, and attendees will get to witness performances from Marcellus Pittman, Ben UFO, Avalon Emerson, Eden Burns, and others, with additional artists to be announced soon. For those unable to attend, promoters have promised that the show will be broadcast live in partnership with Boiler Room New Zealand.
New Zealand’s handling of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has been praised around the world. According to Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering, at the time of writing, the seven-day new case average in the country has been in the single digits for many months in a row.
Friendly Potential’s Beacon Festival takes place on Saturday, March 27th, 2021 at Queens Wharf in Auckland, New Zealand. Tickets to the single-day event go on sale Wednesday, February 10th at 10:00 AM NZST. You can learn more about the upcoming outing on the official website.
