Six weeks ago, Australian electronic music figurehead Phil K passed away following a battle with bladder cancer. Radio station Kiss FM will honor the late artist with a tribute show on Friday, December 18th.
Running 12 hours, the show will consist of recordings of some of Phil K’s most celebrated deep house and breakbeat sets as well as performances from his friends. Among them are Gab Oliver, James Zabiela and NuBreed.
Phil K (full name Phil Krokodis) boasted a DJ career extending all the way back to 1985. Although perhaps best known for his work in the breakbeat genre, he was known to play techno, house and ambient. He and Andy Page released music as Free Radicals, notably Summer Breeze in 1996, and the two launched a record label called Zero Tolerance Records in 1998.
