With the help of music education platform Future DJs, a handful of prominent artists will soon offer free courses for aspiring electronic musicians. Goldie, Ghetts, Jaguar, Tiffany Calver, Aitch and WhyJay are among the artist who will help with the curriculum. It’s slated to launch August 29th, 2020 via digital music classroom Virtuoso.
Future DJs is the only organization offering DJ classes that has been accredited by London Music College. The initiative aims to fill the gap left by funding cuts for school music programs, especially at a time when the COVID-19 crisis has posed new challenges for educators.
Goldie is among the most influential drum and bass artists to rise to fame in the ’90s, having played no small role in the genre’s mainstream popularity. Ghetts is well known as a grime rapper, singer and songwriter, and Jaguar has exposed up-and-coming artists to wide audiences through her BBC Radio 1 show, Introducing Dance.
