Selector’s Sounds series follows a procedure that puts music quality before status or industry relationships. Learn how it works.

Italian trio Mamosato have made a spirited return to Turin label Squeeze The LemonMamosato Vol. 2, as their latest 12-inch vinyl record is titled, sees them revisit their psychedelic brand of minimal house.

As with their debut release, only one of the four tracks comprising the effort, “Mamos Bleeps,” is listed as a Mamosato single. The remaining three were delivered by each of the three individual members: “Energize” by Paolo Macrì, “Different Path Today” by Cristian Sarde, and “Fausto Love” by Emanuele Montalto. What sets the follow-up apart is its overt nod to dance music tradition. Deliberately dated synth work gives it a greater measure of classic appeal than what the trio offered up last year.

Meet Mamosato

Even prior to teaming up as Mamosato, Macrì, Sarde and Montalto were relatively fresh faces in the dance music community.

Montalto’s discography appears to have begun with the trio’s debut 2019 release, Mamosato Vol. 1. Sarde and Montalto have collaborated as a duo under the name Samo since 2018, however. The latter artist is the most established of the three, having released music on the likes of Rutilance Recordings since 2016; he inaugurated Squeeze The Lemon with last year’s Spicy Talking EP.

Mamosato Vol. 2 is a vinyl-only release. Find out if it’s in stock via deejay.de.
