Two Raves to Take Place Underneath a Concorde Jet in Manchester

Two raves are set to take place the same night underneath a Concorde jetliner housed in a Manchester airport hangar this March.

Named Rave Under A Plane, it was originally set to take place as a single event in April 2020. It was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Two years later, event organizers have announced a pair of dates: Saturday, March 19th, 2022, and Saturday, April 9th, 2022. Each event will feature house and disco acts.

On March 19th, attendees will enjoy sets from DJs Dan Shake and Herbie Saccani. Three weeks later on April 9th, Crazy P and Sharples will play. Resident DJs from Surco Events, a Manchester-based event organizer known for throwing house and disco parties at unique locations around the globe, will also be in attendance at both parties.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see a Concorde G-BOAC aircraft up close and personal. It is one of only 18 Concorde jets left in the world, and only three of them are in the U.K. Concorde jets originally went into service in 1976. They remain just one of two supersonic airliner models in the world, able to reach a maximum speed over twice the speed of sounds (roughly 1300 MPH).

Those interested in attending can purchase tickets here.
