A Frankie Knuckles mix that has never been heard until now is available to stream on SoundCloud.
Titled “Frankie Knuckles Recorded Live @ COD Valentine’s Day 1986,” the 80-minute live track showcases the house sound for which he is known. The preview image for the track showcases a Maxell label called “Valentine Session.” Beneath it is the address for the venue, COD, which is 1201 W. Devon Ave. It ends by saying it’s recorded for “PG Ltd.”
Chicago-based DJ and Producer Braxton Holmes uploaded the mix from his personal archive on February 14th. Holmes, a DJ and producer active in the Chicago house scene, has been running BRAX Records since 2017.
This isn’t the first time unreleased music by Knuckles has been released. In 2021, a previously unheard track was released on DJ International.
