Eight months have passed since Berlin’s KitKatClub closed its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic. The renowned sex club has now been repurposed as a COVID-19 testing facility that will open to the public on Friday.
Any local interested in getting screened can register on Check4Event.de, which will give them a QR code to take to the facility. A test costs €24.90, and the club recommends that anyone with a positive result should immediately quarantine and contact their doctor.

“Since it is practically impossible to get a rapid test in Berlin at the moment, we will be offering this possibility at the club from Friday,” reads a post to KitKatClub’s Facebook page. “The test is accompanied by a doctor and trained staff for the swabs.”
KitKatClub was founded in 1994 by Austrian pornographer Simon Thaur and his life partner, Kirsten Krüger. Outside of allowing attendees to have sex on the premises, the club was well known for hosting techno and trance parties.
Other Berlin clubs have also had to get creative to adapt to the pandemic. Berghain began hosting public art exhibitions, and clubs like Sisyphos and ://about blank reopened as beer gardens. Still others have been forced to close, among them John Muir, Dream Baby Dream and Suicide Club.
Through it all, KitKatClub’s owners appear to have remained in good spirits. “Be wild and come naked! (Please don’t. Would be funny, but would probably lead to reports of suspected parties),” they joked.
