Making the pilgrimage to Black Rock City in the Nevada Desert for Burning Man poses challenges for many, but some on the Playa have provided a way for them to be there in spirit. Those who couldn’t attend can watch the temporary community come to life by watching a YouTube live stream that will run for the duration of the event.

The live stream has been shared from the official Burning Man YouTube account. From a vantage point several stories above the campgrounds covering the earth below the camera pans horizontally, capturing the commotion in the days leading up to the Man Burn ceremony.

The 2017 edition of Burning has already had its fair share of hiccups. Standing water on the Playa posed a threat in the months leading up to the event, but its organizers were not forced to relocate after all. Later on, news broke that lawmakers would be pulling over and urine testing drivers to and from the festival at their own discretion.

The 2017 edition of Burning Man kicked off on August 27th and will extend through Monday, September 4th. Find an interactive Q&A to accompany the live stream on the event’s Twitter account.
