Trance fans would be hard pressed to find more classic tracks on Tritonal‘s Enhanced Music, but their Always Alive Recordings sub label is another story. Case in point: The imprint’s upcoming release, “Maktub” by Maria Healy.
A largely instrumental slice of 140 BPM euphoria, the vast soundscape that is “Maktub” is built from a grandiose synth lead underscored by sparkling plucks. An angelic female vocal refrain rings out during the break, but occupies little space in the arrangement as a whole.
Healy herself is no stranger to trance’s more obscure side, having released tech trance singles on the likes of Subculture and Kearnage. Perhaps her biggest 2017 endeavor was “Desiderata,” which received a remix from none other than “pure trance” mainstay Giuseppe Ottaviani.
Maria Healy’s “Maktub” arrives by way of Enhanced Music’s Always Alive Recordings sub label on September 8th. In the meantime, “Wires” by Eirik C will come out on the imprint this Friday, September 1st.
