Danny Howard Releases Holla / Work That on Food Records

Danny Howard has delivered an EP geared entirely towards the dance floor. Holla / Work That arrives by way of Shadow Child and Kry Wolf‘s Food Music imprint, and consists of two tech house DJ tools designed to move bodies.

As long as house purists can look past the hand claps of “Holla,” they might find themselves enchanted by its warm, reverberant bass line. “Work That” also rides the fine line between kitsch and catchiness. Both singles’ swelling percussive buildups and climactic drops fit them for festival stages, but each holds up on its own merit from a production standpoint.

Danny Howard made his debut as a producer in 2012 with “Twenty Nine,” which came out on Spinnin’ Records. While he’s gone to great lengths to reinvent himself in the wake of the chugging EDM tracks that once characterized his career, his new material ultimately serves the same purpose as his previous releases.

Danny Howard’s Holla / Work came out on June 30th via Food Music.
