Black Hole Recordings has announced on social media that Dimitri de Wit – a booking agent for the likes of Tiësto, Gabriel & Dresden, and Giuseppe Ottaviani – has died at age 51 of pancreatic cancer.
“After a short and heavy battle with cancer, we’ve lost our colleague and dear friend Dimtri de Wit on Thursday, August 6th,” reads the Dutch record label’s tweet. DJs like Marcus Schössow, Ferry Corsten, and Menno de Jong have expressed their condolences as well.

Remembering Dimitri de Wit
Dimitri de Wit started out in the music industry as a mobile DJ in his hometown of Breda, the Netherlands at only 14. Under the moniker DJ Le Blanc, he originally he played hip-hop, new beat, and swingbeat, but discovered acid house in the mid ’80s and began to organize his own small events. He held a residency at Breda nightclub Premier from 1988-1992.
Riding the momentum of the late ’90s and early aughts’ trance movement, de Wit carved out a lane for himself as Tiësto’s booking agent. In 2008 he founded Twenty4Seven Management, a booking and consultancy firm representing the likes of John O’Callaghan, Markus Schulz and Solarstone.
In 2019, de Wit was also enlisted to head up Black Hole Recordings’ newly launched firm, Black Hole Agency & Events. In recent years he had also come to play a curatorial role for stages at some of the world’s largest electronic music festivals.
No details of a memorial service for Dimitri de Wit have been released to the public at the time of writing.
