November 2017 marked the release of Shatterproof, a sonically diverse album by Berlin DJ and producer Henning Baer. On December 4th, 2020, his own MANHIGH Recordings released the equally eclectic Shatterproof Remixes EP comprised of six genre-spanning renditions of the source material.
Inhalt der Nacht‘s industrial techno remix of “All Over” kicks off the effort before Matrixxman‘s ominous ambient re-rub of the same track. Minimal Violence reimagined “Never Ending” in their own hard-to-pinpoint style; it’s followed by Randstad‘s EBM remix of “Vermillion Red.” The EP arguably saves the best for last: Sugar‘s fast techno remix of “Drama Sky,” and The Lady Machine‘s minimal techno rendition of “Burning Chrome.”
