In celebration of the U.K. Black History Month, Solidarity Sounds UK is hosting an online fundraiser event called Change The Record on October 24th.

The early hours of the event will consist of talks by the likes of advocate Sean Poulier and BPA founding member Jenny Donaldson as well as poetry readings by creatives Kieron Rennie and I Sis. After an hour of health and wellness activities followed by another two hours of Q&As and readings, there will be performances by such artists as Kaylee Golding and Nyah Grace along with an Afrobeats dance workshop guided by Deborah Kahbinda.

The overarching theme of the event will be racial quality, especially in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests that spread across the world in the wake of George Floyd‘s death. All proceeds from the event will go to organizations Safer London and The Black Curriculum.

Tickets to Solidarity Sounds UK’s Change The Record event are available via Eventbrite. Those unable to attend can still donate to the aforementioned initiatives through a Paypal Money Pool.
