Count Misbits in Bucharest among the record stores risking closure amid the COVID-19 crisis. The establishment’s founder, Miss I, has launched a fundraiser in hopes to weather the storm of the pandemic until sales pick back up.

“As a key part of Romania’s underground electronic scene for the past seven years, Misbits Record Shop has reopened people’s appetite for records that create amazing dance floor memories,” reads the fundraiser description. “The shop plays a very important role in Bucharest, being the first electronic music-oriented record store in the city’s history.”

Miss I (real name Ioana Rodica Parlog) wrote that she was hesitant to ask for help, but decided to try the crowdfunding route on the advice of a friend. The campaign offers stickers, record discounts, posters, T-shirts and other rewards in exchange for various donation amounts.

At the time of writing, the “Saving Misbits” fundraiser is sitting just over 7,000 lei of its target. Donate or find additional information via Sprijina.
