Sasha Premieres “Trigonometry” Ahead of Release on Watergate Records

Sasha has let the more melodic of two singles comprising his upcoming EP trickle out to the masses. The English progressive house DJ and producer (whose real name is Alexander Paul Coe) teased GameOvr‘s title track with a Cassy remix last month. Now, his shared “Trigonometry” in the days leading up to the official release on Watergate Records.

“Trigonometry” bears distinct hallmarks of Sasha’s signature sound. Understated melodies layer in so gradually that you hardly notice any progression, but the arpeggios build up to a subtle crescendo nonetheless. A simple chord plays out on an organ during the break before composition disseminates back into its primal origins.

After a long hiatus from releasing music, Coe had made a triumphant return with “Vapourspace” and “Ether” in 2015. The following year he reunited with John Digweed behind the decks – the man with whom he performed legendary back-to-back sets in the ’90s.

The Cassy remix of “GameOvr” was the first morsel from the album of its namesake to entice fans, and judging by the timing probably the last until the official release itself. In addition to the original mix of “GameOvr,” the EP will also include a remix of “Trigonometry” by Swedish DJ and producer La Fleur.

Sasha’s GameOvr is slated for release on Watergate Records August 21st.
