Roland has added a new, three-story music store and showroom in Tokyo.
This is the second independent store from Roland, the first store is in London, open in 2022 as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations.
Gordon Raison, CEO of Roland Corporation, speaks on the store opening in their press release:
“I am very pleased to announce the opening of the Roland Store Tokyo. Roland was born in Japan, and for more than 50 years we have had a succession of groundbreaking products that have revolutionized the music scene… [the] purpose of opening Roland Store Tokyo is to give the visitors a genuine experience of connecting with our products and culture in an intimate environment.”
The store is located in the Harajuku district of Tokyo, a popular destination spot for art, music and food. Like its London location, Roland Store Tokyo is open by appointment-only. Customers can book in advance and get hands-on demos of new and vintage Roland and BOSS products. “Demo-On-Demand” instruction and testing sessions with Roland professionals is also schedulable.
The first floor of Roland Store Tokyo carries synthesizers, Roland Cloud software, accessories and DJ-related products. The second floor will host Roland’s best-selling pianos, and the basement showcasing V-Drums kits and BOSS products.
Roland Store Tokyo uses a proprietary technology called Audience Specific Experience (ASX). This new technology will allow customers to customize stage, lighting, audio and video while in store.
Roland Store Tokyo officially opened on October 1st, 2023. Find more information on Roland Store Tokyo’s website.
