Serato Studio 2.0 now comes with the Stems feature found in the most recent update of their Serato DJ software.
According to a Serato press release, “Stems splits audio into distinct tracks for vocals, bass, drums, and melodies… to instantly create a capellas and instrumental tracks and providing easy integration of additional samples or original sounds with the push of a button.”
The Stems feature uses a machine-learning algorithm, improving its separation capabilities as the software is fed more audio. This is a step forward for Serato to help new and experienced musicians increase their workflow and come up with new ideas.
Stems debuted in Serato’s DJ Pro 3.0 and the free Serato DJ Lite 3.0 versions. Over 50,000 DJs joined the beta testing period, making it the most popular beta in its history.
Serato calls their Stems technology “The single biggest breakthrough in sampling technology since the digital sampler.”
