Influential Berlin nightclub Tresor is set to reopen after a two-year hiatus that began in March 2020.
Taking to Instagram to announce the news, the institution announced that it will reopen on May 6th. The first event taking place will be Klubnacht, a long-running series of shows that took place at the venue before its closing.
“Tresor Berlin has returned: Entering a new era with the re-launch of Klubnacht, which will be held on Friday, May 6th and Saturday, May 7th,” organizers wrote.
Artists included on the reopening event’s lineup include DJ Stingray 313, Ciarra Black, and Minimal Violence. Doors will open in time for attendees to experience a new sound system installed by Lambda Labs. A Globus dance floor will also be complete by the end of May.
The venue will also be used for other events such as live music, screenings and exhibitions.
Tresor (which is German word for “vault”) was founded in 1991 in the vault of an old department store. Since then it has gained a large following. In 2004, it was the subject of a documentary titled Tresor Berlin: The Vault & The Electronic Frontier.
