Dan Duncan from the DJ duo Pig&Dan has launched a new NFT project called CryptoDJs.
Hosted on the Polygon blockchain, the project is a collaboration between Duncan and a small group of fellow DJs. The platform launched on February 9th with an initial sale of digital cards featuring DJs such as Pig&Dan, Christian Smith, and Simina Grigoriu.
Each card is priced at $66, with a total of 30 unique NFT cards for each artist (240 altogether). Fans can purchase the cards using USD or by connecting their MetaMask wallet to the platform. Three cards from each artist’s collection feature an exclusive, unreleased track.
Combining the cards in certain ways will grant purchasers access to unique perks such as access to unreleased music, backstage passes to a gallery in Decentraland (a popular Metaverse location), artist meet and greets, and more. Fans can also trade the cards on Opensea, a popular NFT marketplace.
Duncan chose the Polygon blockchain because of its low power consumption compared to others such as Etherium and Bitcoin. Speaking about the project, Duncan said, “What really excited me about being part of CryptoDJs, is the fact that it’s built on authenticity. It’s been created to provide opportunities for us as artists to engage with those who support us in new and innovative ways. A gateway to grow a genuine collectors community.”
