War Child, a network of non-governmental organizations, recently launched a new fundraising platform with a focus on underground music.
“The Right to Dance (TRTD),” as the platform is called, launched yesterday. It operates on a monthly subscription basis; by signing up members gain access to exclusive musical events and merchandise. All funds go towards helping create safe spaces and educational opportunities for affected children.
Subscribers will also receive exclusive content such as interviews and editorials that cover “themes of community, freedom, identity, and self-expression.” Other perks include digital music releases, monthly podcasts, and reduced ticket prices to musical events.
To celebrate the platform’s launch DJ Lag put together an exclusive mix for TRTD subscribers. It marks the first installment of the platform’s monthly “TRTD Mix” series. Members will have access to the tracklist as well as the option to download the entire mix.
Numerous TRTD events are lined up, the first of which is on Sunday, December 5th at London’s Oval Space and Pickle Factory. The event is in support of the crisis in Yemen Emergency Fundraiser. Tickets go on sale Thursday, November 4th and TRTD subscribers gain exclusive pre-sale access along with discounted ticket prices.
