Kode9‘s popular electronic music label Hyperdub has just launched its own publishing company, Flatlines Press. Flatlines’ first book will come in the form of Zero, named after Kode9 and Shannen SP‘s monthly Ø event series that ran from January 2017 until March 2020, highlighting underground acts like ArcaDJ Lag and others.

Hyperdub refers to the book as a “time capsule” peering into the history of Ø’s 36 events through photographs, illustrations and text. Full-color graphics of the art installations displayed during Ø events will also be featured in the pocket-sized book, designed by Manuel Sepulveda (Optigram), a Hyperdub associate. Kode9 has taken a step back from musical endeavors to focus on the Flatlines Press launch.

All proceeds from the sale of Zero will directly benefit Latin Elephant, a charity organization that aids displaced persons and ethnic groups affected by gentrification in Elephant and Castle, an area in London’s Southwark borough.

Flatlines Press kicks things off with the release of Zero on October 12th. Copies are available for preorder via Hyperdub Bandcamp.
