Andrew Alcee, a producer and vocalist known professionally as Yush, has passed away.

The details of Alcee’s death have not been disclosed to the public at the time of writing. Word of his passing broke via Twitter on Sunday, and a fundraiser was launched on Tuesday to help cover his funeral expenses.

“You will be really and truly missed but never, ever forgotten,” reads the fundraiser description. “He blessed all our lives in many many ways, we so want to give Andrew the service that he deserves, and are currently asking for donations to help towards the costs of his funeral and headstone.”

Andrew Alcee’s career in music extends back to the late ’80s. He co-produced and provided vocals for music by Anthill Mob as Yush alongside artists like Jeff AllenJust Juice and John Doe. The group’s first several releases came out on Confetti Records, with hits like “Burning” and “Flava” rendering them a household name in UK garage.

Resident Advisor notes that Alcee also crossed over into jungle and drum and bass. He featured on Potential Badboy‘s breakout 2015 single, “You’re Mine,” for instance.

The fundraiser to cover Alcee’s funeral expenses currently sits at just below half of its £5,000 target. Donate and find more information via GoFundMe.
