Chicago has a brand new soccer club belonging to the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA).
The Chicago House Athletic Club will begin their NISA journey this year after a fan vote for the naming of the team saw “Chicago House” win out with a two-to-one margin over “Point Chicago.” Brian Costin is responsible for the name proposal, positing that “Chicago house music has always been about peace, love, and acceptance, and has influenced music culture all over the globe.”
“I am excited about how Chicago House music will contribute to the club culture and the game day experience of Chicago House AC,” he continued in his statement.
With a clean logo, orange and teal colorways, and the incorporation of house music culture, Chicago House Athletic Club are ready to make their home in the NISA. After the pandemic, Chicago House will look into ways to incorporate house music into the brand even further, with potential DJ sets before, after, or during games.
Former Chicago Fire star player CJ Brown will coach the squad, and team president and CEO Peter Wilt plans to make the “Chicago House AC” a true athletic club in the global sense, by moving the club into different sports beyond soccer while pushing house music culture even further.
Chicago House AC will begin playing in August 2021 at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview. Ticket information is available on the Chicago House Athletic Club website.
