Until mass COVID-19 vaccination allows nightlife to resume, Mint Warehouse is attempting to shore up losses via alternative means. The Leeds nightclub will offer courses on DJing and production by residents Bobby O’Donnell and Annie Errez starting March 6th.

Apparatus Music Production and Tuition, as it’s called, currently offers beginner and intermediate courses on Ableton. Included in each are access to two group classes in addition to two one-on-one tutorials. DJ workshops and general mentoring will also be provided in courses that have yet to be announced.

RA reports that students will be able to attend the courses in person at Mint Warehouse when COVID-19 restrictions ease. Errez touted the classes as “a great opportunity to make good use of the space and facilities while it’s currently out of action for regular events.”

Mint Warehouse was opened in 2012 by the owners of Mint Leeds. Before the pandemic largely put nightlife on hold, the club billed the likes of Ben SimsGene On EarthJohn Digweed and Kepler. In addition to two indoor rooms, the premises include an outdoor area with a suspended Funktion-One speaker setup.
