Rising Belfast talent DAHRYL has delivered Poznań, Poland label The Meaning Of Rave‘s first-ever vinyl release. Recovery comprises five hard techno cuts, two of which are remixes by Ghost in the Machine and RVDE. It released February 2nd in digital as well as transparent, eco-friendly, 12-inch vinyl format.
The title track sees DAHYRL pair savage kick drums with crispy, calculated noise, whereas “Nightmare” is defined by more fluid bass lines and distorted vocal samples. Ghost in the Machine rearranged the former track while keeping much of its sonics intact, and RVDE gave the latter a melodic tinge of industrial. Also included as an exclusive in the digital release is “Fuel,” an artfully grating manifestation of DAHRYL’s sound.
Fast Rise
DAHRYL debuted on User Experience with the three-song Crank EP in 2019. According to a press release, by then his music had already garnered support of techno figureheads like Rebekah, Paula Temple, Charles Fenckler and Emmanuel. Since then, his releases have also landed on such labels as Green Fetish Records, Sticky Ground and MeltTRAX.
Recovery marks DAHRYL’s debut via The Meaning Of Rave, as well as the label’s first-ever vinyl pressing. To commemorate the occasion, they enlisted Deepgrooves to press the transparent 12-inch record. The plant, located in a former Leeuwarden, Netherlands prison, specializes in pressings made within a 99% circular environment.
Recovery is available in digital and vinyl formats via The Meaning Of Rave Bandcamp.
