Florian Meindl‘s FLASH Recordings has given a home to a two-track techno EP by Momec. The Danish producer and sound engineer followed up June’s Zephyr EP with the Arcade EP on December 18th.
Only a filtered kick drum and warped melody play out for the first minute and a half of the title track before danceable percussion finds its way into the arrangement. “Boiling” showcases more sonic diversity from the outset with sci-fi-reminiscent sound design that paints a vibrant picture across the dynamic range. Both singles are sonically crisp, exhibiting an unconventional style well suited for Meindl’s prolific label.
Alongside the EP, Momec uploaded an hourlong live techno performance dedicated to FLASH Recordings to his YouTube account. It comprises seven seamlessly blended compositions that the artist performs on an analogue synthesizer setup.
The Arcade EP is available in digital format via FLASH Recordings Bandcamp.
