September marked the debut release of U.S. talent Mink as his single “Jung” appeared on On Edge Society‘s Static Vol 2 compilation. He’s now delivered a more involved minimal techno effort: Trip EP, which arrived by way of Teksupport Records on November 20th.
The Trip EP kicks off with the title track, a peak hour concept largely driven by percussion and infectious groove. P.Leone delivered the remix, raising the tempo and incorporating tasteful acids and reverb into the arrangement. “Warp” stands out as the most melodic single of the bunch, and “Clone” closes the effort out with a dose of acid techno.
Mink Who?
Although his discography only extends back a few months, Mink has established himself as a DJ in New York City’s thriving the New York City techno scene. 2019 saw him perform at the 25th anniversary of Time Warp, which brought such artists as Sven Väth, Ricardo Villalobos and Sonja Moonear to the New York Expo Center in the Bronx.
Teksupport Records is the label offshoot of Teksupport, one of the promoters of Time Warp as well as other large-scale house and techno events in New York City. Mink was also booked for their first-ever label showcase in January.
