With promising vaccine candidates and rapid-testing services looking to deliver the 2021 festival season from COVID-19, the organizers of Glasgow’s Playground Festival have begun to announce headliners from next year’s event.
So far Underworld, Kraftwerk and Nile Rodgers & Chic have been announced for the three-day festival. Respectively, they will headline the main stage on July 30th, 31st, and August 1st. Additional headliners will be revealed in the months leading up to the event.
2020 would have marked Playground Festival’s second annual edition, but the pandemic prevented organizers from moving forward with the event as planned. The inaugural 2019 event billed such artists as De La Soul, Hot Chip, DJ Format and Maribou State. Next year the event will return to Rouken Glen Park, which is to the southeast of Glasgow.
Organizers will make a subsequent announcement on November 25th, the day before tickets go on sale for the 2021 gathering. More information is available on the Playground Festival website.
