Owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 edition of MUTEK Montréal took place in a limited physical capacity. Organizers have given would-be attendees a chance to experience performances from the six-day gathering as part of a temporary platform called MUTEK Replay.
Recorded sets from artists like Boogieman & Samito, CMD, Guillaume Coutu Dumont, T. Gowdy, OBUXUM and Tati au Miel will be available through Replay until November 30th. It includes all audiovisual works from the event’s Distant Arcades exhibition as well as 20 of their Stream On performances.
MUTEK’s organizers debuted a digital experience in 2020 owing to restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. For all its limitations, the event at least succeeded in offering something that previous editions didn’t. Live streams from artists performing in Argentina, France, Japan, Mexico, and other countries were available to those who attended the online event.
All of the Replay recordings can be streamed through the end of November via Virtual.Mutek.org.
