Plastician has sought to ease the increasingly tense mood of 2020 with a work outside his usual repertoire. The U.K. DJ and producer has self-published a book titled The Dad Joke Bible: Plastician Selects The Best Bad Puns.

“Tweets from the archives, unearthed gems from the depths of the internet, and straight fire off the top of the dome,” writes Plastician (real name Chris Reed) in the book description. “Delivered to you via the pages of my first-ever publication. If this sells well I might even consider writing about music one day, but no promises are being made yet.”

Reed was among the early adopters of dubstep as it evolved from the dark garage sound with which he was well versed in the early 2000s. His songs were supported by pioneering artist DJ Hatcha as far back as 2003, landing him a residency at seminal dubstep party series FWD at Plastic People in London by 2004. He also runs Terrorythm Recordings, the label that gave a home to Om Unit and Joker‘s debut releases.

The Dad Joke Bible: Plastician Selects The Best Bad Puns is available for purchase via Amazon.
