A deal between Insomniac Founder Pasquale Rotella and Pete Kalamoutsos that was finalized in 2019 has been shared with the public at long last. Rotella has purchased popular Washington D.C. nightlife avenue Club Glow, which comprises Echostage and Soundcheck.
Billboard reports that Kalamoutsos and Rotella initially planned to announce the acquisition at Winter Music Conference 2020. After the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded and triggered a worldwide festival collapse, however, they decided to hold off. Kalamoutsos will remain onboard to manage Echostage, which accounts for 34,000 square feet of Club Glow’s floor plan.
“We have have been working together in the past few years promoting dance music culture and I’m always watching for people who make an impact,” Rotella told Billboard. “A goal of mine has always been to work with the people that are essentially cut from the same cloth and have the passion with the roots to the culture. Pete’s a fan he’s stuck with it and what he started is as popular today. And he is pushing the music forward and pushing the culture forward.”
While the COVID-19 crisis has halted Club Glow’s programming, Kalamoutsos has promised employees that their jobs will still be there when nightlife returns.
