South East London venue and live streaming space AAJA Deptford is hosting a virtual event comprising two solid days of continuous music. AAJA 48 Hour, as it’s billed, will showcase talent hailing from nine dance music hotspots around the world – Berlin, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Oslo, NYC, Lisbon, Ibiza and Turin – beginning on Friday, October 30th.
The first day of programming will consist largely of AAJA mainstays like Conor Jatter, Dani Hendrix and Knickerbocker Corey along with Rinse FM jungle DJ Uncle Dugs, the mind behind the U.K. #WeAreViable campaign. Saturday, however, is when the international talent will be on full display. Tokyo techno veteran REKI, Berlin’s Ecke Records, and Sydney’s Something Else Record Store each have time slots – not to mention pioneering U.K. drum and bass duo Fabio & Grooverider.
“As avid listeners, DJs, event and radio organizers in the current climate, it felt more important than ever to continue to share music, collaborate with DJs, artists and listeners,” said Everson and Patch the Whale of AAJA. “In these very disconnected and uncertain times, we must keep dancing, listening and sharing music.”
“Our 48 Hour worldwide stream, which skips around the world twice, touching down with different crews in different cities is to celebrate our SE London station, AAJA, draw attention to the #WEAREVIABLE campaign, hoping to return live entertainment, safely as soon as possible,” they went on. “All whilst enjoying some wicked music.”
More information on the live-streamed international event is available on the AAJA Deptford website.
