Mix Nights has announced that they will host an eight-week beginner DJ course for women, transgender, and non-binary individuals in Tottenham later this month. The aspiring performers will meet once a week to learn the basics of being a DJ and work towards performing a 30-minute set after the completion of the course.

Last year, Boiler Room posted a mini-documentary about Mix Nights and how they plan to combat the limited female, transgender and non-binary representation in DJ world. The video provides information on the organizers, their motivations, and the success of former students.

Organizers have shared that the event has been risk assessed and is deemed COVID-19 safe. They’ve stated that students will only be placed alongside one other classmate and a single tutor to reduce contact. It is also listed in the terms and conditions that all students will be required to wear masks. The cost of the course is £160 but payment plans and grants may be available to those needing financial support.

At the time of writing, Mix Nights is still accepting applications for their Tottenham course. The classes will run weekly from October 20th until December 7th with a final performance on Tuesday, December 8th. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, October 14th at 8:00 PM. You can find more information and sign up for the program here.
