The looming COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t kept INSTYTUT from partaking in one of their more eco-friendly traditions. For the third year in a row, the Polish club and event brand have organized a tree planting event.
Admission to the weeklong September gathering in Stefanów was a single tree seedling. By night, participants enjoyed performances by INSTYTUT’s resident DJs. Also included were workshops on environmentalism and eco-sustainability.
The 2020 “Let’s Plant a Techno Forest” event also marks INSTYTUT’s 20th anniversary. Opened in 2000, the club occupies a laboratory research hall once belonging to Warsaw’s Instytut Energetyki (Institute of Power Engineering in English). In the years since it has grown to include a handful of satellite event brands as well. Among them was a 2019 techno festival in a 19th century fortress called Garnizon Modlin said to be the longest building in Europe.
Next year’s “Let’s Plant a Techno Forest” event will take place in May 1st and 2nd, 2020. More information can be found on the Facebook event page.
