Underscope to Offer Distribution Services to 100 French Electronic Music Labels

A distribution and publishing platform called Underscope was launched on Tuesday with the goal of elevating French electronic music. To that end, the network has signed 50 French record labels and aim to sign 50 more by the end of 2020.

Underscope is the brainchild of French club owner Brice CoudertAymeric Cornille of Parisian event brand Surprize, and District6 President David Bossan. Resident Advisor reports that the new entity will leverage District6’s distribution assets in addition to partnering with Believe Distribution Services as well as securing placement on playlists and providing social media marketing services.

Among the company’s newfound partners are techno label Molekül and Simo Cell‘s new imprint, TEMƎT Music. They’ve uploaded songs from each to a new YouTube channel called UnderscopeTV.

“We are positioning ourselves on electronic music in the broad sense, and we will defend all possible aesthetics, as long as the music touches us and that we find it of quality,” Coudert told TSUGI. The same way I was able to program IDM, hardcore, and ambient in the middle of more classic house and techno at Concrete, Underscope will open up to many different niches.”

More information is available on the Underscope website.
