Queer and POC platform Rave Scout Cookies (RSC) have announced a handbook series covering electronic music and adjacent topics. Rave Scout Cookies Handbook #001 is slated for release on October 5th and is now available for pre-order.

The first installment of the series takes a somewhat revisionist approach to electronic music history by highlighting queer and POC stories. Among them are those of Ariel Zetina, Justin Cudmore, Kirk Woodwest, and Jeffery Sfire. Also included is a guide to harm reduction featuring DanceSafe, and an archive of nostalgic event flyers.

RSC is the brainchild of Salman Jaberi, a stalwart of Boston’s VISCERAL techno and house event brand. He conceived of the platform in late 2019, parodying the Boys & Girls Scout Club of America – originally a whites-only organization.

In November 2019, Jaberi told Resident Advisor that the platform would consist of “a newsletter, podcast series, digital events, check-in app, and a third-party booking agency and networking app.” Also included is a mix series called COOKIE SERIES that has featured the likes of Andrea PazLunática and Keenan Orr.
