DDC. Records has delivered an inventive cross section of hard techno in a compilation titled Elbanger, released on June 1st, 2020. Appearing on the effort are songs by French producers Rheist, Industry 43 and Itachi.
Rheist offered up two of the four songs on the compilation: “84’s Thrill” and “Seeing Death.” The former single is fairly traditional hard techno fare, but the latter makes a compelling case for the rave stabs often overused in more commercial variants of the genre. Industry 43 delivered a similar concept for “Shale Mine” before Itachi closes the effort out with the eclectic “Face Down.”
DDC. Records specialize in a cohesive yet diverse range of the electronic music spectrum. Their most recent EP, Abyssal Rises, meandered through ambient and downtempo soundscapes still rooted in a similarly challenging aesthetic to Elbanger.
