COVID-19 restrictions will prevent Charivari Detroit Music Festival from moving forward this year – but a digital event will go on in its place. From July 28th to August 2nd, 2020, would-be attendees can stream a makeup event via Mixcloud. Organizers have announced several of the artists on the lineup.
Eddie Fowlkes, Blake Baxter, Juan Atkins, DJ Minx, Norm Talley and Terrence Parker are but a few names on the bill. In partnership with Spin Inc., a Detroit nonprofit dedicated to teaching music production to youths, the digital event will also showcase tutorials for software and hardware from the likes of Roland, Ableton, Serrato and other brands as part of Detroit Electronic Music Conference.
2020 would have marked the 7th annual edition of Charivari Detroit. Even the physical events were free of charge, and all of the aforementioned artists have performed at previous editions.
