Native Instruments (NI) are giving away a free sample pack called Community Drive as a fundraiser for artists and brands displaced by COVID-19. The DJ gear and software company have themselves donated €100,000 as part of the campaign in hopes that others will follow their example.
14 artists spanning the pop, hip-hop and electronic music spectrum offered up sounds for the pack. Among those representing the latter category are BT, Laurel Halo, Junkie XL and Richard Devine. Community Drive is available as a free download with encouraged donations split between seven organizations: The MusiCares Covid-19 Relief Fund, Musicians Without Borders, Keychange, Black Trans Femmes in the Arts, KUUMBA In Motion, In Place Of War, and Heart N Soul.
Comprised of 268 samples in total, Community Drive includes kits and presets for Logic, Ableton and MASSIVE as well as 74 different loops. All one needs to download it is a Native ID account on the NI website.
