Bridging the sonic landscapes of progressive and minimal house is the latest offering by Silat Beksi. Via French label GAAZOL, which specializes in the latter subgenre, the Ukrainian producer will deliver a 12-inch vinyl record titled GAAZOL004. It’s due out for release July 30th, 2020.
The first single on the A-side is “Anna,” a melodic cut named after Beksi’s bride of five years. “Awaia” follows, with dissonant sound design that leans more towards GAAZOL’s usual fare. The B side consists of a Daniel Broesecke collaboration titled “Wings” along with a remix of said track offered up by Sepp.
GAAZOL inaugurated in 2017 with a three-song effort by Japanese talent Yoshitaca. The label has explored numerous shades of the minimal house and techno spectrum ever since, championing music by the likes of Doubtingthomas, Bitterjazz and Modbox.
Beksi himself boasts a career extending much further back. According to Trommel he was mentored by Ukrainian tastemaker iO (Mulen), with 2015-2016 arguably marking his breakout. In addition to his own imprint, Modeight, Beksi’s music has found a home on such labels as Pleasure Zone, Dreams Are Not Inside, What You Want, and Vivus Records.
