Norfolk, England gathering Houghton Festival has been called off for 2020. Restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 have added the August 12th-15th event to a growing list of summer cancellations. The 2019 event had also been canceled due to inclement weather.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the postponement of this year’s festival,” reads a statement on the event website. “All of us are aware of the seriousness of the current health crisis, so this news will come as little surprise. Hope has carried us through the recent months but it is obvious that a festival of this scale cannot go ahead with confidence.”
Houghton Festival inaugurated in 2018. The brainchild of DJ and producer Craig Richards, it billed the likes of Sonja Moonear, Horse Meat Disco and Nicholas Lutz. DJ Stingray, object blue and D. Tiffany were on this year’s bill.
Ticket holders are given the option to request a refund for their ticket or roll it over for the 2021 event via a form on the Houghton Festival website.
