An extension of restrictions imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19 has forced the postponement of another gathering. Dekmantel Festival, whose 2020 event was scheduled to take place July 29th-August 2nd in Amsterdam, Netherlands, has been moved to August 4th-8th, 2021. Until further notice, the lineup will remain the same.

“It is a tough moment, but we’re sure we don’t need to explain how the pandemic has affected the lives of nearly everyone on the planet this year,” reads a passage from organizers’ official statement. “We are resigned to fate as well.”

Dekmantel Festival Canceled 2020 COVID-19 Statement

The announcement follows news that the Dutch government will keep event bans in place until August 31st. Not long prior, Awakenings Festival released a statement calling off their own event. International gatherings such as Tomorrowland and Burning Man have recently postponed their 2020 editions to 2021. EDC Las VegasCoachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and Movement Electronic Music Festival, on the other hand, have simply rescheduled to the fall.

Tickets to Dekmantel Festival will be honored for the new dates. Organizers have promised to email ticket holders to inform them of all of their options.
