Ariel Black and Man 2.0 Release Collaborative Two-Tracker on The Umbrella

Brooklyn-based The Umbrella has returned with an EP considerably more raw than the one that preceded it. Back in July the independent label released a deep house compilation titled Endless Reflection, and now Ariel Black and Man 2.0 have each offered up a track for Electric Official.

Black’s “Fragile Android” brings classic synth lines to the breakbeat formula, sacrificing a measure of accessibility for subversive grit. “Crack Talking” by Man 2.0 is so titled for a vocal sample that repeats over the course of the track which is underscored by wonky melodies interspersed by a psychedelic breakdown.

The Umbrella was launched by Rinsed founders Dan Wender and Blacky II, who organized underground parties in DIY creative spaces throughout Brooklyn. The label specializes in retro-focused electronic music which explores the dimension of dated production methods.

Electric Offical by Ariel Black and Man 2.0 comes out on The Umbrella October 16th. Find the album art for the effort below.
