Jeff Mills remains one of the most prolific artists in Detroit techno as evidenced by his latest announcement. The DJ, producer and self-proclaimed futurist has revealed that he will release the Lost In Space EP ahead of a studio-length 2018 album of its namesake.
Consisting of five singles, the EP has resulted from Mills’ collaboration with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. It follows up this year’s 18-track Planets, which was itself featured symphonic contributions by the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música.
Pushing the Envelope
Jeff Mills has been involved with techno almost as long as its originators, having founded the record label Underground Resistance in addition to his more recent imprint, Axis Records. Regarded as one of the most forward-thinking minds in the genre, he has continued to broaden the horizons of techno by incorporating a diverse range of influences into his productions and performances.
Jeff Mills has not disclosed an official release date for the Lost In Space EP or its subsequent album. However, he has revealed that he and the orchestra will perform in Toulouse on April 5th and 7th of 2018.
