After providing a platorm for artists the world over in the form of his Suara record label, Coyu has finally announced his debut studio-length album. To commemorate the occasion, he’s offered up his Thomas Gandey collaboration from the effort, “1+1.”
As with much of what comes out of Suara, “1+1” is somewhat sonically shallow. What the percussion and bass lines lack in texturing, however, is compensated with samples of a piano melody. The break of the nine-minute track even features a full-on piano solo before the kick drums find their way back into the arrangement.
On “1+1,” Coyu has said:
1+1′ [is about] my girlfriend and I, my mother and I, my team and I, Suara and I, my music and I, the world and I. Because without the people you love and all that you love you are nothing. But also, it is the communion of my two great passions: techno and house music.
Coyu has not disclosed the title, tracklist or release date of his upcoming debut album at the time of writing.
